Directions
One of the nice things about Whitworth is that it only has one main road - Market Street - and this runs right the way through the entire valley, from Healey Corner at the Rochdale end (south), to the Bacup boundary at Britannia (north), and the Whitworth Museum is just a short way from the main road, at roughly the central point of the valley. Below you will find a detailed map of our location, and also a link to the Google Maps site, where you can find a very detailed map of the whole Whitworth area if you are coming from further afield. click here to find us on the Google Maps site: https://tinyurl.com/ydveys6s
Getting here by public transport
If you are travelling by public transport there is a regular bus service through the valley, with stops just a very short walk from the museum (ask for the 'Sportsmans' pub, or the 'Band Club'). This service is the 464 and a timetable showing full details can be found at the Rosso website, you canfind the latest timetable here:https://www.transdevbus.co.uk/rosso/services/464/
By car
There is a very large car park just opposite the museum on North Street, and parking on there is free. You can also park on the street as well.
Disabled facilities
Access via the front door requires using some steps, but we do have a very nice ramp at the rear of the premises which gives easy access to wheelchair users, and anyone who has difficulty with steps.
